Great interview! I like the part about the bad reviews...I reviewed a book once (I was a newbie then) and dared to mention some drawbacks-and you can't imagine what happened! The author became furious and we had a never ending argument till...I gave in to stop this irrational thing. I'll never forget that, you are right: the author never forgets , but the reviewer as well!

Awwww, you all are so sweet to endorse my HowToDoItFrugally books that way. I'm really glad they helped you with your writing careers. Please keep spreading the word. It makes me happy and, I hope, helps lots of others. (-:

When I was in school, the only "english" related major meant journalism, which I didn't write. The funny thing is that, while I was working on a memoir, I wrote articles for the local newspaper. Go figure!

BTW, I have both of Carolyn's Frugal books, and they are wonderful. It's nice to hear she has success with other genres as well.

Karen, yes to those. LOL. Teaching on online class (at least for me) is much more difficult than in real time on campus. And most university online programs vet those teachers just as strenuously as they do do the ones who teach on their campuses. And, of course, online teachers must be Web literate, too. LOL. It's the idea of vetting that I think is so important.

So, Margaret, I didn't mean to give the wrong impression. It's the teacher, not online or offline. And most universities offer online choices. I took a great poetry class online from UCLA Extension. (Have to support the school that support me. LOL).

Carolyn, I've attended some wonderful in-person workshops but unfortunately the time I have available to attend in-person is limited. Online is just so much easier to schedule for me.
