We are thrilled to be hosting Edie Harris, author of the romantic suspense, Blamed. Be sure you check out the huge giveaway at the bottom of the post!
What was your inspiration for BLAMED?
I got a huge kick out of watching a couple of television shows that featured amazing female spies who had obvious faults—they weren’t perfect or airbrushed, and, though risk-takers, they rarely veered into TSTL (Too Stupid To Live) territory. I wanted to write a heroine like that: smart, flawed, brave, and, at times, recognizable to real women. (Those shows, by the way, were BBC’s “MI5” and USA Network’s “Covert Affairs.”)
What themes do you like to explore in your writing?
The different circumstances under which love can present itself is number-one in my writing. The sheer number of possibilities of the whens and hows and whys of falling in love is fascinating to me. Any other issues and themes are secondary to me.
What did you find most challenging about writing this book?
I found I had to limit myself to only so many plot threads; BLAMED could easily have been over 100,000 words, if I hadn’t planned it out so meticulously. And then, of course, there’s the temptation to dive right into the next hero and heroine’s story—holding back on that was tough.
What do you love most about being an author?
Living vicariously through my characters, of course—for instance, I’ve never traveled to half the places in BLAMED, but my heroine and hero have. Researching the things they do and see and experience is a thrill all its own.
Where can we find you on the web?
My website is edieharris.com, though Twitter is the best place to connect with me (@edieharris). I’m not active on Facebook or Goodreads.

About the Book
Born into a long line of spies, sanctioned killers and covert weapons developers, Beth Faraday carried out her first hit-for-hire when she was still a teenager.
That part of her life—the American spy royalty part—ended one year ago, with a job gone wrong in Afghanistan. The collateral damage she caused with a single shot was unfathomable and, for Beth, unforgiveable. She’s worked hard to build a new life for herself, far away from the family business. But someone, somewhere, hasn’t forgotten what Beth did in Kabul. And they want revenge.
As the Faraday clan bands together to defend Beth and protect their legacy, Beth is forced to flee her new home with the unlikeliest of allies—MI6 agent Raleigh Vick, the only man she’s ever loved. And the one she thought she’d killed in the desert.
